I won’t go into much detail but this was a dark day. I am fine physically but maybe a little broken.
Long story short there is a great deal of private land owned by logging companies in Washington and my mapping software and Google does not detect the presence of logging companies gates. I wasted the whole day trying to get to what in my mind was a wonderful rail to trail.
I suffered two flats from shoulder trash. I felt isolated and small. I gave up late in the day and stealth camped in the woods. I believe it was public land but I did not stick around to find out. I was up at first light and popped right out where I had lunch on day two. 40 miles ridden, net -9!!!
To say my mental state was low is an understatement.
I knew there would be challenging days but on day three?!?

Dang – that sounds like a bummer of a day but it’ll get better. Just keep telling yourself that a bad day biking cross country is better than a good day working 🙂
I’m still impressed with the golf club bag. That’s just not something you see everyday!
Keep peddlin’!
You always do what you make up your mind to do. I have no doubt this time will be the same.
